Beginnings: This class is designed for beginners, or anyone dealing with physical challenges. The goal is to introduce techniques to stay flexible, strong, and avoid falling. We will practice breath, stretches, and movement from traditions of India and the Far East. Classes combine elements of yoga, TaiQi, QiGong, and using props as needed. Emphasis is on building balance, strengthening bodily awareness, moving toward a better state of mind and overall health.
Yin: This class is designed to soothe the body and mind. Yoga postures and theories are broken down at a slower pace to build proficiency and body awareness. Postures are held for longer duration, and introduced with variations and props appropriate to your body and state of health. Practice takes place in a warm, heated room. All levels welcome.
Yang: This class is designed to awaken your power. In a dynamic practice, postures are linked with the breath to strengthen, stretch, and gently nudge the body toward balance. The practice will draw on modern traditions of alignment from Iyengar yoga, and the intense physicality and lightness of Ashtanga. Expect to sweat, build muscle, and steadily develop a balanced, limber yoga body. Practice takes place in a warm, heated room. All levels welcome, but some experience will help you keep up:)
